Here’s something important to remember: cruise lines are almost always running some type of promotion.

“Free Drinks, Wi-Fi & More!”

The promotion may sound different from week to week, but a new sale doesn’t automatically mean the final vacation price is better.

That’s why I focus on the total cruise price and overall value, rather than simply looking at the headline on the advertisement.

There can be a big difference between a promotion that sounds amazing and the actual final price of the vacation.

When Should You Start Planning Your Next Cruise?

If you already know you’d like to take a cruise within the next year or two, there’s nothing wrong with starting the conversation now.

You don’t have to know the exact:

• Cruise line
• Ship
• Destination
• Itinerary
• Stateroom
• Departure port

You can simply say:

“Jennifer, we’re thinking about taking a cruise next summer.”

That’s enough to get started.
